Description
Stackers are large machines used in bulk material handling, primarily for piling materials such as wood chips, limestone, ores, and cereals onto stockpiles. These machines are designed to empty dumps at various cable heights, operate from the driver's seat, prevent slippage, and facilitate involuntary emptying. Additionally, they are equipped with cones for collecting stackable materials and feature holes for forks and lifting rings for crane operations.
Stackers typically travel on rails within stockyards and can move horizontally along the rail and vertically by luffing (raising and lowering) their boom. This vertical movement minimizes dust by reducing the distance that material needs to fall onto the stockpile. Some stackers also have the capability to rotate the boom, allowing them to form two stockpiles on either side of the yard conveyor.
